Drake reacts to Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic’s FIERY rant against LeBron James’ Lakers after controversial game

Another week of the NBA drama is coming to an end and it’s Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic who hasn’t been the happiest, at all. After their controversial 132–131 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, Rajaković blasted off on the amount of free throw disparity between the two teams during his postgame interview. And later, it was the Toronto Raptors team ambassador and music sensation, Drake, who put his weight behind the coach.

In a postgame interview, Darko went off as he stated:

It’s outrageous. What happened tonight, this is completely b.s This is shame. Shame for the referees. Shame for the league to allow this."

And it was none other than Drake, who reposted the interview on his Instagram story with the words:

As for the Raptor’s woes, it was the officiating in the game. After a narrow 132-131 loss against a similarly toothless Los Angeles Lakers side, the internet exploded alongside Darko with regards to the game. The Lakers were provided with 36 free throws during the match, triple the amount the Raptors got. And their reaction was fully justified.

Anthony Davis, who got 41 points, was also criticized as the term “flopping” was thrown about. The player was even blamed for having scored half of his points through free throws. A crucial win for the Lakers but a mountain to climb for the Raptors, as they extend their loss record by 22 defeats, entering 2024 with more and more doubt.

While it was a hard-fought game, the Toronto Raptors failed to get the win against the Los Angeles Lakers. But the result was far from the actual truth. While the Lakers won the game, fans went wild alongside Darko afterwards.

Fans went wild on X (formerly known as Twitter), as they expressed their side of anger following the match.

It left a whole fanbase of the NBA divided on the game. And while the controversial moment still lingers, it remains a problem that the Raptors haven’t been at their best, far too many times. And with a long 2nd half of the season ahead, it remains to see as to how they will move forward with the season.
