The Golden State Warriors suffered a hard loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6. Playing for their survival, the Warriors were down 3-2 in the series. However, with the team not firing at its full potential, the Lakers were too much to deal with for the defending champions. Golden State lost Game 6 by 21 points as the Lakers advanced to the Western Conference Finals. After the game, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Steve Kerr all reflected on their season and postseason runs.
The Golden State Warriors were almost single-handedly run by Stephen Curry yet again. Klay Thompson failed to make an impact as he shot just 6.2%. Draymond Green, on the other hand, made quite an impact offensively this series. However, they went down 101-122 to the men in purple and gold and are now out of title contention. Green then spoke extensively on his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show’.
Draymond Green spoke about winning back-to-back championships and the challenges it has. “It’s hard to win back-to-back championships. Ultimately, your team has to get better to win back-to-back championships. I’m not sure this team got better. Saying that as a competitor, you do all you can to make that happen and I think we did that. Like Steve (Kerr) said. We maxed out,” he said.
“Another that I thought was interesting was that Steph said there was no change up to throw at the Lakers,” he said, talking about the lack of diverse skilled players on the Warriors roster this year. “We didn’t have as many capabilities to do those things as we had in championship years past. I can agree with Steph on that.”

Is Draymond Green staying at Golden State?
There have been a lot of conversations around Draymond Green and his contract with the Warriors. While some suspect the veteran intends to transfer to the Lakers and team up with LeBron James, some believe he will continue to play alongside Stephen Curry. Moreover, many fans on social media are accusing Green of warming up to James and are convinced of his exit. However, Green spoke to the press in the post-game interview after the Game 6 loss.
Green was asked about his primary focus and priorities for the off-season. Answering the question, he threw some light on the speculations about his will to stay at Golden State. “I wanna be a Warrior for the rest of my life. I wanna ride out with the same dudes I rode in with. We’ve put the work in to make that happen.” Green also went on to explain that it’s never as bad as it seems. “Those are some of my priorities. Travel a little bit. Refill the cup. Possibly play FIBA and work my a** off and be better next year.”
As of now, Draymond Green intends to stay where he has played since his draft. However, upon the contract extension, fans will really know if he will return as a Warrior next season.
