Udonis Haslem, the ex-captain of the Miami Heat and a three-time NBA champion with the team, known for his role as the team’s enforcer, expressed his views on Golden State Warriors’ star Draymond Green and the NBA’s decision to suspend him.
The NBA handed down an indefinite suspension to Draymond Green due to his aggressive actions against Phoenix Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic, involving a face smack during a game. This disciplinary measure follows a prior five-game suspension for putting Minnesota Timberwolves’ French player, Rudy Gobert, in a chokehold. The league’s decision to suspend Green stems from what they termed as “a history of unsportsmanlike acts.”

Udonis speaking on “The Big Podcast” had this to say:
I think Draymond’s gotten to the point where the initiator and I think that’s not a good thing, when I saw the things that are happening. They kind of make me cringe because I put myself in that situation. Because I’m an OG and I’m a leader.Udonis Halsem on ‘The Big Podcast’
He continued:
So, when I look at Draymond, I try to put myself in his shoes. I don’t wanna stand at the top and throw rocks. It just makes me cringe, because I can imagine myself, the way he hit Jordan Poole, I can imagine myself hitting Tyler Herro like that. And I try to understand where he’s coming from, and I can never do those things.Udonis Halsem added
With Green sidelined, the Warriors currently occupy the 11th position in the Western Conference standings, situated outside the Play-Offs spots. During this period, the team has secured a record of 5-3.
Draymond Green using virtual meeting to aid return
Suspended Golden Warriors player, Draymond Green is using video conference meetings to chart his return back to the league after his indefinite suspension by the NBA, according to sources.

In the video conferences, discussions involve team, league, and union officials. The NBA, National Basketball Players Association, and the Warriors are utilizing these sessions to assess Green’s progress in addressing any underlying issues that may have led to repeated violent incidents with opponents and a former teammate, according to sources. Additionally, sources mention the participation of Green’s agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., and team trainer Rick Celebrini in these ongoing sessions.
While Green has the opportunity to condition and practice with his team, the likelihood of him returning to the team facility on a regular basis before early January is low.
