Recently, the Chris Paul trade to the Golden State Warriors, in exchange for Jordan Poole to the Wizards was finalized. Believe it or not, Draymond Green still has beef with Paul even though they are on the same team now. Talking on the ‘Pat Dev Podcast’ with Rone, Green sure had some things to say about Paul and his arrival to the Warriors and he aims at resolving the beef he has with him.

Draymond said, “I publicly said I didn’t like Chris before. I’m not going to just be like, ‘Oh, man, that changed now that he’s my teammate.’” But this was not said without a hint of maturity. He added, “I look forward to talking amongst men. I look forward to working with another adult…Chris is a pro. I’m looking forward to going to work with a pro. He’s super smart and he’s shown to be a great leader.Draymond Green, although not on good terms with CP3 as of now, is aiming to resolve the issues as soon as they land in the locker rooms.

As he is paired up with CP3, he has an “opportunity to be alongside that [tenacity and will to win], on the same side of it.‘ Paul, too has not shied away from delivering his sweet words whenever he got the chance. “…Draymond. I know he competes just like I do. So it’s going to be definitely dope to see us now as teammates.

To answer this, let’s have to look at if this is just 2 adults not liking each other or a full-fledged beef. So, is this beef? The short answer is no, but the champ CP3 sure does have a beef with Golden State Warriors and the fans of GSW have been hating on him ever since Paul’s LA Clippers eliminated them in 2014. Green had also openly said that Curry’s main motivation was to surpass Paul. This gave more fuel to the fans and they build upon it, taking every opportunity to pair the 2 unfavorably together, not as fellow players but as competitors.

Marcos Thompson, a reporter, added more fuel when in 2017, he claimed that Curry’s success made Paul jealous. This did not age well and the issues escalated when in 2019, Curry was thrown by CP3 during practice in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. CP3, while he was building the perfect point guard build with Bleacher Report, he did not include Curry in it. However, these 2 have seemed to put the differences aside as Curry welcomed CP3 with open arms.

Paul said, “I’m excited, I’m grateful, like I said,” Paul said. “To get an opportunity to play with that core group of players: Steph, Klay, Draymond, Looney, Wiggs, all of them, play for Steve.” It will be exciting to see whether this positiveness overpowers the supposed beef that they are earlier. Now, as Green and CP3 have officially found themselves to be on the same team together, it will be interesting to see how they play out and how their beef plays out on the court. One thing is for sure, netizens have had all the fun, mocking this duo and will continue to do so as the season progresses.
