“Don’t let this loss affect you… you’re a star” Draymond Green and Jayson Tatum share heartwarming moment after Finals’ Game 6
Jayson Tatum may have been through the toughest battle of his entire career so far. This is the closest the player has ever gotten a chance to win his first NBA ring even through the Boston Celtics have made several trips in the past. Since 2016, the team has been through four Eastern Conference Finals runs including this season. They only made it through once against the Miami Heat whom they went up against in the 2019-20 season during the bubble.
Tatum did not have an ideal finals appearance individually. Turnovers were a major issue for him as he recorded 4 in Game 5 and 5 more in the Game 6 closeout compiling to a total of 100 in the playoffs. He also showed struggle in scoring averaging only 21.5 points per game. The forward otherwise averaged 25.6 poin5w, 6.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in the postseason. During each series he had at least one of more games scoring 30+ points but against the Warriors his highest 28 points in Game 2.

Jayson Tatum was visibly very upset of the fact that he let down his team at the biggest stage. Obviously there ways they can improve moving ahead to which he said, “I think just our level of poise at times. Throughout this series and previous series, myself included taking care of the ball and things like that. But it’s easy to look back and see all things you could have done better. We tried, I know that for a fact.”
Marcus Smart followed with his own take saying, “yeah we tried. Obviously you know to look back and see what we could have done, it’s tough. We all made mistakes that obviously could have been prevented but we’re learning as a part of it. You take that in going into next season and build off the things that we done wrong and the things that we done great.”

Draymond Green uplifts Jayson Tatum after tragic elimination game loss
The Golden State Warriors continue to make history winning their fourth title as a group in this era and seventh franchise championship. Draymond Green had a very good night on defense and contributed a hefty sum of productivity working the floor making screens to block Smart from defending Stephen Curry and creating easy drive ins for his teammates. The veteran finished the game with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists shooting 5-10 from the field which including two 3-pointers.
Green admitted to having a tough time against the crowd at the TD Garden during the championship ceremony. But before the Warriors were handed over the Larry O’Brien trophy for the fourth time he shared a moment Jayson Tatum encouraging him not to give up. Green is known for motivating his peers as it seemed like he was. He ended by telling Tatum, “I’ll see you soon,” after sharing a long embrace. The young Celtics concluded his season with only 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists on 6-18 shooting.
