Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shares a special bond with superstar Draymond Green. Green recently mentioned that the two had an emotional heart-to-heart conversation following his 12-game suspension.
Green said he was sitting all by himself in his ‘mancave’ at home reflecting on everything that had transpired for two days after the incident took place on December 12th. On 14th December, after being pulled out of isolation by his daughter, Coach Kerr came over to meet Green at his house. Green said the following about their encounter on his The Draymond Green Show:
We sat in the yard, he cried, I cried,..... because there is a bond there that has seen it all.

Coach Kerr went on to say:
I want you to end this the right way, I want us to end this the right way.
Green revealed that Kerr emphasized the need to get through the suspension in the proper way.
Steve Kerr has coached the veteran for 10 years of an incredibly successful career. Kerr promoted Green into the starting lineup of the Warriors team during his first year in charge. The coach knows his psyche very well and pushed the player to fight through the situation.
However, this incident was such that Kerr could not publicly support Green. Kerr knew that Green needed to get his act right if he wanted to continue playing. Kerr and Green having a heart-to-heart show that the Warriors’ head coach is intent on helping his player through the suspension.
Green has to set aside antics for the team
The league suspended Green indefinitely after he hit Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face on Dec 12th. The incident was the second of the year for Green. He was earlier suspended for 5 games for holding Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.

Green has been reinstated by the NBA after his indefinite suspension. He missed 12 games and will need around a week to get back to game fitness. The tenacious defender is a much-needed cog in the Warriors’ championship wheel which is now faltering at 12th place in the Western Conference.
Basketball fans hope coach Kerr has helped Green get his act right so that he can in turn help the Warriors return to playoff contention this season.
