Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole faced criticism after missing a potentially game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds of Tuesday’s Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers. However, Poole has been defended by his teammates, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry.
In the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green stated that he liked the shot taken by Poole, saying, “You got a guy 6 for 10 that you know can shoot the piss out of the ball and you get an open three, you live with it.” Despite many believing that Poole had enough time to get a better shot off, Green insisted that taking the three was not why the Warriors lost the game.
There were some things that I personally could’ve done to make sure we weren’t even in that situation. I played like s–t. I am disgusted with myself right now
Curry also defended Poole, stating that “it was a shot he was open and flowing. … I’m sure he felt pretty good about it. That’s why he shot it. There are no kind of regrets about that.”
Despite the loss, the Warriors will have the chance to bounce back in Game 2 on Thursday.
