Draymond Green, Kendrick Perkins

As the exchange of words between the players and the media continues, Draymond Green is now referring to Kendrick Perkins as a coon. Social media’s accessibility and the internet’s availability have made it possible for people to speak out on their platforms. The slander from journalists over the previous several days has been too much for the players and Green has a reputation for speaking his mind and tussling with some members of the media.

Regardless of how heated things may have become, Perkins insisted he has no issue with Green. Green has defended Golden State Warriors critics at every turn throughout the NBA Finals. He continued saying so during the procession for the victory, making sure his voice was heard.

Draymond Green and his history of responding to critics

Draymond Green‘s podcast, The Volume, frequently draws tens of thousands of listeners and is bluntly presented. They discuss basketball in depth as well as the media and the needless hostility. Draymond’s most recent rant on traditional versus new media will undoubtedly get attention. He takes Bayless’s ten-year-long LeBron James mockery as an illustration of how the “old media” seeks to degrade athletes. The Warriors’ big man claims he wouldn’t want to speak with Bayless on television about basketball because he knows it wouldn’t be a serious discussion. In addition, he claimed that because Bayless is not of the same level as the guests he has previously hosted on his podcast, he cannot be on The Draymond Green Show.

Draymond claims that Kendrick’s analysis has been deviating more and more from typical basketball analysis. Perkins thinks it hasn’t reached the point of beef despite the ongoing back and forth. He said the following on “The Old Man & the Three with JJ Reddick”: “I won’t call it beef. I mean, we just, you know, we don’t see eye to eye. At this stage of my life, I’m not beefing with nobody. I’m past that, I can’t let nobody disturb my peace.”

Green proceeded by criticising Perkins for adopting Bayless’ fashion rather than developing into a “genuine” analyst like JJ Redick. On Redick’s podcast, Perkins recently revealed that he once hoped for King James to damage his ACL and acknowledged that many of his fiery takes come from ESPN producers. Green advises Perkins that rather than offering clickbait commentary, as a former player he should spend the time to evaluate the game like Redick and CJ McCollum.

Since then, Perkins has continued to discuss Draymond Green openly anytime the chance has presented itself. He complimented Green’s handling of his business after the Warriors won the 2022 championship. Green’s main argument is that “traditional media” should cease taking sides and instead conduct as unbiased of an analysis as they can.
