Draymond Green and Chris Paul had a rivalry since the time the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockers first faced off in the playoffs. Plenty of time, the two have argued with each other, trolled each other, and fouled each other. For the first time, the two shared the court as part of the same team.
Since Paul was traded to the Golden State Warriors, he and Green are on the same team. Unfortunately for fans, they haven’t been able to see the two together since Green didn’t play the first two games. However, Green returned to action for the Warriors’ next game vs. the Houston Rockets. Green said he was excited to play.
Green was quoted saying:
I feel incredible. I’m excited, ready to play. You put Bill Gates and Paul Allen in a room and you get Microsoft.Draymond Green via The Athletic
Draymond Green is obviously optimistic about sharing the floor with Paul since he compared it to the creation of the trillion-dollar company – Microsoft. It remains to be seen how the Warriors player’s minutes will be managed when both Green and Paul are available to play.
How has Chris Paul fit in with the Warriors so far?
Until now, Chris Paul has fit well with the Warriors. He has distributed the ball to almost perfection, making the right play and finding the open man when necessary.
In fact, he has fully embraced his role as the ball distributor and not as a scorer. He was pivotal in the victory against the Sacramento Kings. He piled up 10 points, but the real game changer was the 12 assists he put up.
Interestingly, Green is usually the facilitator for the Warriors offense. It will be exciting to see how the two can play in tandem together and whether or not the two will have to take on different roles than they’re used to. We must wait for the game against the Rockets to find out.
