The Golden State Warriors have done it and they are potentially going to do it once again this season. For two long seasons, the team went through a lot trying to acquire pieces to fit their core and injuries wore them out. The bounce starts now as the Warriors are headed into the Western Conference Semi-Finals after being the Denver Nuggets last night in a 4-1 series.

The Nuggets were upset 102-98 by the Dubs despite Nikola Jokic putting in all his effort and strength into the series. The Warriors have been showing signs of the 2015 champions that they were shooting 45.1% from the field, 41.9% from the three-point range, and 71.4% from the line. While being praised for their offensive dominance, their defense is quite underrated as they finished with 10 steals and 6 blocks. Stephen Curry once again shot lights out from three going 5 makes on 11 attempts.

For nearly three years, the Warriors’ name has been out of the playoff brackets and now they have finally shown the world that they are not done yet. Curry opened up about his emotions during Game 5 saying, “Tonight was just a weird feeling because we hadn’t been there in a while. We wanted it so bad, kind of made it a lot more difficult on ourselves. But we still remember how to do it which is a good feeling.”

Head Coach Steve Kerr had a lot of kind words towards the Nuggets but especially for one particular player, DeMarcus Cousins who played for the Warriors the last season they made the playoffs. He said, “ I also want to mention how happy I am for DeMarcus Cousins. Obviously, I wanted to win but that guy put his heart on the line for us several years ago and he’s been through hell. I can say that now that we won, but he had a great series.”

Nikola Jokic had put in all his effort for the Nuggets to reach the playoffs while lacking two very important players Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., and He averaged 31 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game in the series. The center is not done yet as he is one of the top-ranking nominees for the MVP this year.

Draymond Green shared his kind words towards Jokic following the game which caught the attention of many. The former defensive player of the year said, “I just told him, thank you for making me better. It’s absolutely incredible to play against a guy like that. Incredible talent, it’s an honor and pleasure to play against someone so talented and so skilled. And usually, when you have a guy that is that talented and skilled, they are a little soft, he’s far far from soft.”
