“You wanna call anyone an idiot? Look no further than myself” Draymond Green gets brutally honest on his ‘unjust’ ejection during Grizzlies in Game 1
Draymond Green and Brandon Clarke
The Memphis Grizzlies was potentially a layup behind to seize Game 1 in their favor as the Golden State Warriors managed to edge past 117-116 to register a winning start. With Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr in sublime form, the Dubs were left short-handed on the back court ever since former DPOY Draymond Green got ejected after letting his emotions get the better of him.
Being thrown out of the game before halftime, Green decided to talk upon his ‘unjust’ ejection as soon as the Warriors won Game 1. Having brutally slammed Brandon Clarke on his face and then followed it up by pulling him down the floor, it seemed like a justified ejection. But indeed, wasn’t a flagrant 2 foul as per the rule books? Was this suggested by Draymond Green as well? Take a look below for yourself to frame your opinion-
What was opinionated by Draymond Green on his ejection in Game 1 vs Grizzlies?
Green quickly held what he called an “emergency podcast” to give his thoughts on the incident. He said, Draymond “When they reviewed the foul, for as long as they reviewed it, I said to myself, ‘I wonder what could they be deciding that’s possibly going to take this long. I’m actually dumb enough to think I wasn’t going to get a Flagrant 1. Talk about an idiot? You wanna call anybody an idiot? Look no further than Draymond Green himself!”
“Even once Brandon Clarke hit the ground, I was still holding his jersey up. “At this point, I kind of expect things like that. I’ve been suspended from Game 5 of the NBA Finals, you think for one second I don’t believe I wouldn’t get kicked out of Game 1 of the second round? Not surprising to me at all, not one bit.”
For Draymond Green, he surely was lucky enough that the Dubs managed to walk out of the FedExForum with a win registered against their name. Special shoutout would obviously go to Jordan Poole who score team-high 31 points and also came up with some magical big plays in the fourth quarter, to help provide the supporting hand to Curry and Thompson on the offensive end. After winning Game 1, which team among Grizzlies vs Warriors will make the headline in Game 2? Remains to be seen.
