Draymond Green at the press conference
Draymond Green did not have a great night on Wednesday as he was terrible on the court, describing himself as “soft” and playing like “shit.” After six personal fouls, Green was ejected from the game, finishing with two points, three assists, four rebounds, a block, and a couple of turnovers in the Warriors loss against the Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. After his team’s loss to the Boston Celtics, Green got into a heated altercation with a reporter when asked if he was concerned about the Celtics’ staff acquiring information from his podcast.

After Game 2, Draymond Green was graded an A+ if you just looked at how much his basketball plays affected the game. But after assuming he had shifted the series because of the enthusiasm, liveliness, and motivation he seemed to bring to the court and encouragement in his teammates, it was utterly disappointing after his Game 3 showing. The Celtics took advantage of the Warriors’ lack of size and energy to win convincingly. Draymond Green and the Dubs had no answer as the Celtics used their physicality to the advantage and were outrebounded 47-31 by Ime Udoka’s team, who also collected 15 offensive rebounds. Boston also dominated in the paint, scoring 52 points to 26 for the game.

After the game, a reporter from Bleacher Report, Jake Fischer, brought up his podcast and asked Green whether he had thought of providing his opinion and analyzing down games, and if that might be considered a competitive advantage. “Are you conscious at all of what you’re saying about the X’s and O’s of the game plans, the adjustments, could be making their way back to Boston staffers and influencing their decision-making at all?” the reporter questioned Green. “No. I don’t see much difference on the Podcast than I say to you right here, so nah, What’s the X’s and O’s that I said on the Podcast?”, Green replied.
The reporter was referring to Draymond Green’s analysis of the Warriors’ defense on the Celtics’ Marcus Smart, Al Horford, and Derrick White in Games 1 and 2. When speaking to another reporter in the room, Green was noticeably agitated by the line of questioning and went on to question that reporter’s IQ.
