Joel Embiid, on Tuesday, got injured in a game against The Warriors. He hurt his left knee, and the Philadelphia 76ers star was later diagnosed with a Lateral Meniscus Injury. And the player is considering surgery, which will result in him to miss multiple upcoming games.
Draymond Green blamed the new 65-game rule after Tuesday’s game when Embiid was headed to the locker room during the game. According to him, Embiid played the game even when he was not completely healthy because of the new rule that is necessary to qualify for season-end awards. Stephen A. Smith responded to Green’s statement on Wednesday’s ESPN Broadcast. And claimed he hadn’t “highlighted the origin” of the rule.
Later, after the update of Embiid’s injury was announced, Green called out Smith in the new episode of the “Draymond Green Show” Podcast. He said:
Players are now getting punished for being injured… I don’t think Joel Embiid tore his meniscus by Jonathan Kuminga falling on it. The knee was already swelling up.
Green said that The NBA should have investigated Embiid reason for being out of the games. And should have prevented him from playing the games while already being injured.
Draymond Green calls him and Steph Curry the best duo in NBA
On Saturday, 28 January, The Warriors played a close game against the Los Angeles Lakers which went to overtime. Despite the loss, Curry dominated Warrior’s offense with 46 points and Green took over the defense with 14 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. After the game, Green took his social media to call him and Curry the “Deadliest one-two punch in the NBA”.

Green and Curry have won 4 championships together as The Golden State Warriors. Green is having a season of ups and downs. He was recently suspended by the NBA for choking Minnesota Timberwolves Rudy Gobert. Green has shown unwarranted aggression in multiple games this season.
After being suspended, Warrior’s Forward went through counseling and is now back to play. Despite Warriors’ recent struggles, Green’s return has helped them improve their defensive performance. The team is now hoping to make the playoffs.
