“He’s going to be livid with himself going into game 6” Draymond Green highlights how Stephen Curry’s off-night will be fruitful for the Warriors

Golden State Warriors wrapping ever-so-crucial Game 5 without Stephen Curry going wild on scoring was something new in the 2022 NBA series, but Draymond Green put up a warning sign for their opponents as the Warriors have taken the upper hand against Boston Celtics for the first time.
Golden State Warriors found a new game-changer in Andrew Wiggins, who scored team-high 26 points against Boston Celtics and grabbed 13 rebounds. The Canadian star had been a regular performer for the Warriors but his game-5 performance was his best for all the teams he played before. But interestingly Warriors leader Stephen Curry was quiet for the night. Celtics would consider it as their moral victory, but Draymond Green put up alarming signs in front of their opponents. Green, who played his entire career with the 3-point king, warns Boston Celtics about Stephen Curry’s game-6 performance. In a post-game interview, he looked confident about Curry going for high sores again in game-6.
Stephen Curry scored just 16 points in the game and was 3rd best scorer on the team behind Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson. After a mind-boggling 43-point production at TD Garden, everyone was expecting Curry to score at least 30+ points at home, but Boston’s change of plans limited him below 20 points, the 1st time in the series.
Stephen Curry always bounced back after a poor scoring performance in the 2022 postseason

Golden State Warriors enjoyed a good run in the 2022 NBA finals behind Stephen Curry’s effective shooting nights. Despite the outcome of the game, the Warriors’ marquee star has always played his best for the team leading both teams in the previous 4 games.
But Boston Celtics were determined to stop the Warriors in game-5 planned defenses around Stephen Curry. It did work well for them as the 3-point king couldn’t drain a single 3-pointer in the game. He had a playoff record of 132 consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer in the game, but the counter will reset now, as he went 0-9 in tonight’s game.
The change in Celtics’ defensive priorities allowed other Warriors’ stars some open looks and Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins banked on the opportunities. Klay Thompson was 50% from the field and scored 21 points in the game, while Wiggins was the top scorer for the team with 26 points.
Curry already had some low-scoring games in the 2022 playoffs, but he did manage to score big in the next games. In the very 1st game of the 2022 postseason, Curry scored 16 points, but in game-2 he exploded with 34 points helping the team in a 20-point blowout win. Similarly, in the conference semifinals, Curry scores 29 points in series wrapping game-6 after a dreadful scoring night in game 5.
Many might have doubts about Curry’s slight dip in form, but the Warriors’ star forward Draymond Green expressed his happiness over the poor game. He went on to say, ”He’s going to be livid going into Game 6. That’s exactly what we need.” The history supports former defensive player of the Year, and the Celtics might need to prepare themselves for what’s coming.

2-time MVP Stephen Curry had the best games so far in the Finals series and could well top his Western Conference Finals MVP Award by winning the Finals MVP award with another scoring madness. If Curry could go big in the game and Game-6 Klay plays by his name, The Warriors may close the series in 6 games winning their 4th title in 8 seasons.
