Draymond Green has a jab at Stephen A Smith
Stephen A Smith is one of the veteran analysts on ESPN, and has been vocal about his opinions since forever. Draymond Green, can never separate himself from controversy for long, as he slams back at Stephen for his comments about the ‘New Media’. Golden State Warriors took down the Mavericks 4-1 in the WCF, earning themselves a week’s rest before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Both Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have taken this week to become busy with their podcasts, with Draymond tackling Stephen A Smith and modern-day reporting.
Dallas Mavericks did win game 4 at home, extending the conference finals series for 1 game at least. But the Warriors didn’t waste an opportunity to close the series in front of their home fans as Klay Thompson fired on all cylinders and Stephen Curry was phenomenal in the Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors are heading back to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons. They punched their ticket on Thursday night with a comfortable 120-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals to win the series, 4-1.

“The New Media is here and it is here to stay” Draymond Green scathes at Stephen A Smith
Draymond Green has recently been quite busy on the ‘Draymond Green Show’, as he fired shots at Stephen A Smith, regarding the ‘New Media’. A couple of days ago, Stephen A Smith with Patrick Beverley had come out and said –
“I appreciate Draymond, that’s my brother, I love him dearly, he’s as real, as he gets I got a lot of love for him. I’m rooting for him I root for him all the time, but when you talk about ‘New Media’, y’all need to watch yourself because let me tell you something, ain’t nobody usurping this brother, okay, not from a basketball state, I’m talking when I’m from an athletic stand I don’t give a damn what player is out there there’s skills that come with doing this too.”
The ‘New Media’, as Draymond calls it , is much more efficient way of presenting sporting opinions, which include open discussions and healthy comparisons rather than heated debates and people going off on each other. Draymond had his own say to Stephen A Smith’s words about the ‘New Media’
“Let me make this clear, Stephen A has a way and who he is that I think is absolutely special in media, I think is incredible, I think Stephen A is an original I think Stephen A created a lane that not many people can go into, and you have to track carefully going into that lane, because if you don’t succeed in going into that lane, it doesn’t look good.”
“Stephen A the ‘New Media’ is here and the New Media is here to stay my friend now, when you say going from a player to the number one, I don’t do this sometimes Stephen, you need to check out the Draymond Green, show it drops twice a week. I don’t just do this sometimes baby, this is real this is here to stay, this is going nowhere so this is not a sometime thing, I put a lot into this and I hope you understand that and if you don’t that’s okay because you’ll just continue to notice me baby you’ll continue to notice me Stephen A.”
“When I speak on ‘New Media’ Stephen A, you got some new media in you too now. You not totally like those those older guys that don’t know how to give flowers and show love Stephen A, that’s not you. So when I speak on ‘New Media’, you got some new media in you too, my friend, whether you know it or not you’re halfway over there, we accept you Stephen A, we love you my brother”
Draymond gave a befitting reply to Smith, he stated how media analysts should learn how to give respect to players without defaming others. He talked about Stephen Curry being compared to Lebron saying Curry is that good to be on Lebron’s level, that doesn’t mean Lebron is not good enough, he is a legend already.
Draymond has received huge praise from fans all around the world for speaking up on this topic, as players who actually played in their respective sports have a much better understanding of the league, people who actually have a first-hand perspective on sports topics as opposed to outside observers. Stephen A Smith apparently admitted that Draymond has got him dead to rights this time, with a smile to his face. A new era of sports media is upon us, and Draymond is keen to make it dawn sooner.
