“Somethings wrong with me,” Draymond Green reveals what changed his HATE relationship with Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley and Draymond Green
If you watched any NBA on TNT broadcasts starring Warriors player Draymond Green, you would have noticed that he seldom had disputes with Hall of Famer and fellow analyst Charles Barkley. Draymond has made guest appearances on the show multiple times over the years and having just secured a multi-year contract with the network as an analyst, this feud has been quite amusing. The BIG men didn’t hold back when exchanging jabs, sparking a fierce competition.
Before their first collaboration on TNT’s “The Arena” in the summer of 2020, the two had butted heads multiple times over the years, most notably when Barkley jokingly declared he wanted to punch Green in the face after witnessing his antics in one of the Warriors games. Draymond Green and Charles Barkley sparred for a few hours before deciding to call it quits and form a relationship instead of trading shots whenever they got the chance.
Draymond Green on his relationship with Charles Barkley
Draymond Green talks about his first encounter with Charles Barkley and how he was taken by surprise by his behavior “when I first went to do it I’m thinking in my head I’m walking on this stage and whatever he owned I’m on that like I’m walking up here I’m about to make him uncomfortable like whatever it is it is the moment I walked up on the stage he got out his chair Draymond what’s up man how you doing good to meet you welcome to the team brother.
He continued by saying “I’m immediately like thanks man I appreciate it, man, then I sit down to my chair so Draymond what’s up man how you doing like what’s going on like how long you here he broke me down so fast like at that point that man get up and greet me like that “
Barkley in a previous interview explained his ‘punch’ comments for Draymond Green “Some people don’t realize, at one or two o’clock in the morning sometimes you’re like this dude is driving me crazy tonight,” Barkley added. “He’s arguing with the refs all night and then Shaq said ‘what do you want to do?’ and I said ‘I just want to punch him in the face.’ “
“What pissed me off about that night, to be honest with you, I was joking around and then a reporter asked you that and then … when I heard him ask you that question I thought ‘oh man this dude is going to think I’m serious about punching him.’ I’m not ever going to punch an NBA player because we’re all in the same family.”
