With the New Orleans Pelicans having to earn their seat in the playoffs via the hard road, many expected Phoenix Suns to tear them apart in the first-round series. With Game 1 proving to be a comfortable affair for the top-seeded team in the West, Game 2 saw the rise of the underdogs. Moreover, with Devin Booker getting ruled out due to a hamstring injury, Draymond Green has surely joined the Pelicans hype train.

To those who are not aware, Booker has been ruled out for a minimum of two weeks after a fatal hamstring injury in game 2 vs the Pelicans. Now with Chris Paul having the entire responsibility of leading the team, Draymond Green believes that the underdogs have a definite chance of causing a major surprise.

Former DPOY and Warriors marquee Draymond Green stated that the Pelicans have a chance of beating the Suns now with Booker out for the remaining series. The veteran defender quickly added that he meant no disrespect to leader Chris Paul. On one hand, you can see what Green is hinting at: the Suns point guard is already 37 years old, and his athleticism has been absolutely shot.

Safe to say that casual watchers of the game will think that the duo of Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum is better than the current CP3.

However, Draymond Green is discounting the fact that even at 37 years old, Chris Paul is still an absolutely phenomenal player. His mastery of the Suns playbook, as well as his midrange dominance and clutch performances, has been the catalyst for the team’s success this season.

However now with Game 3 ready to be unraveled in couple of hours, it will be interesting to witness how CP3 is able to lead the team in the absence of Booker. Will he be able to prove Green and doubters like him wrong? Remains to be a huge matter of speculations. But given that the Game 3 action moves to New Orleans, the home team could really push the Suns at the edge of the cliff with consecutive victories. What drama waits? We shall witness soon.
