The league placed Draymond Green on indefinite leave due to his persistent acts of violence against other players. The league deemed Green to receive all the help he could get before returning to the court. New reports have emerged about Green’s current status.

Adrian Wojnarowski broke the new story about Green’s counseling sessions. This is what he wrote:

Beyond individual counseling sessions, suspended Golden State Warrior star Draymond Green is participating in periodic virtual meetings that include team, NBA, and NBPA officials designed to chart his progress toward reinstatement.

The report suggests the officials have used Zoom meetings to discuss the matter. These meetings’ agenda items include monitoring Green’s progress in addressing the underlying issues that led to his violent acts against players. The intention is for Green to understand “certain league and team conditions” before his comeback. According to a source close to ESPN, Green remains open to the discussions and will keep working out with the squad.

According to ESPN, he won’t be able to go back to the team facility until early January. So, his comeback is still some time away. If nothing else happens, that would keep Green off the court longer. Green’s suspension would probably consist of 11–13 games.

Draymond Green may miss 11 to 13 games in his NBA suspension

There is currently no set timeline for Draymond Green’s return from an indefinite suspension. However, it is anticipated that he will miss at least 11 games. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the general belief indicates Green will miss 11–13 games during his suspension. If Green fails to meet the NBA’s requirements for his return, the suspension might be prolonged.

Green hit Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face during a game the day. The next day, the NBA gave Green an indefinite suspension. They have suspended Green for his on-court behavior twice this season. When Green choked Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert during an on-court altercation between the two teams, they previously suspended him for three games.

While Green is suspended, Golden State has won five of its first six games. With Green out, Steve Kerr has had success switching up his starting lineup, starting rookie Brandin Podziemski instead of Andrew Wiggins on the bench. On Christmas day, they lost to the Denver Nuggets.
