Draymond Green

While Shaquille O’Neal is regarded as the greatest big man by majority of NBA fans all around the globe, Draymond Green is known to stop the biggest, badest modern-day players in and around the paint. A formidable DPOY contender whenever he represents the Golden State Warriors, Green recently went onto reveal his desire to guard the former Laker legend to end all speculations (going inside his head).

Draymond Green is known for his basketball brain and acumen on the offensive as well as the defensive end. Being the backbone of Golden State’s defense for countless number of years, this defender is known to halt the wrath of most of the marquee scorers. On the latest episode ‘The Draymond Green Show’, he went onto reveal how he has always admired the scoring prowess of Shaq and what a dream-come-true it would be for him to guard his childhood favorite.

Draymond Green reveals desire to guard Shaq

Draymond Green

“If I had the opportunity to guard him, like, that’s everything for me. If I had the opportunity to play basketball on Shaq’s team, that’s everything for me. Everybody say, ‘Oh, man, if played back in the league, you wouldn’t be able to guard Shaq, you wouldn’t be able to guard Hakeem (Olajuwon),’ Shut up. I’m guarding Shaq. Bring on the big fella.”

The Golden State Warriors can become the first team from the West to advance in the second round if they are able to beat the Denver Nuggets on their home court on Wednesday. Given that there are reports of Stephen Curry possibly returning back to the starting line-up in Game 5, Green could focus more upon guarding Jokic and stop the line-of-play of the opposition.

That being said, it surely would be contest for the centuries if we could just witness Shaq being guarded by Draymond Green. But with the former already inducted in the Hall of Fame, perhaps we can see their legendary coming out on the sets of NBA on TNT sooner rather later. If not physical, let’s hope Green could give a try in stopping the verbal banter and arguments of his childhood hero on the sets.
