The incident between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole continues to be a hot topic even nine months after it occurred. During last year’s training camp in October, Green punched Jordan Poole, sparking widespread discussion within the Golden State Warriors community.

Recently, one of Poole’s friends, Ralen Brown, posted an Instagram story, stating that whatever Poole said to trigger Draymond was actually something he learned from Draymond himself. Moreover, the friend pointed out that Poole has been handling the situation more maturely than Green, who failed to step up as a leader when it was necessary.

On the show “Willard and Dibs” on 95.7 The Game, Mark Willard criticized Draymond, calling him a hypocrite. Dan Dibley chimed in, mentioning that Draymond did the same thing to Kevin Durant, which ultimately led to Durant’s departure from the team. Dibley suggested that Poole’s behavior might have been influenced by Draymond’s past actions.

Mark responded, “It reeks of hypocrisy,” and Dibley added, “Unless I am saying it to Kevin Durant, which ultimately led him to leave the team.” Mark emphasized that Jordan’s actions were likely influenced by Draymond’s mentorship, and that’s why he acted out.

Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors‘ player, recently signed a four-year $100 million extension to continue with the team. The Warriors had traded their up-and-coming guard Jordan Poole, whom they had previously signed to a four-year $128 million deal last off-season, to make room for Green’s extension.

Recently, Green appeared on the Pat Bev Podcast to discuss his actions of punching Jordan Poole last season. According to Draymond, he does not have a habit of hitting people, and the altercation with Poole was the result of an ongoing dialogue that had been building up over time. It was not just one isolated incident that triggered him; instead, it was the content of what Poole had said, which Draymond strongly disagreed with, that led to his outburst.

He said, “I don’t just hit people. Dialog, of course, happens over time and you usually ain’t just triggered by something like that fast, you know, to that degree. This is a team, you know what I’m saying, ain’t nobody on my team triggering me, you know, in an instant. You know, we know stuff that you don’t say amongst men, you know what I’m saying? We know you know things that you have to stand on.”

Fans have been critical of Draymond’s refusal to apologize and instead attempting to rationalize his actions. They believe that his decision to punch a teammate harmed the team’s chemistry and contributed to their poor performance last season.
