“Nothing changes my love for you” Dwayne Wade makes incredible legal move for trans child Zaya
Dwayne Wade and Zaya Wade
Dwayne Wade the 3 times NBA champion has allegedly submitted a request to officially alter his trans child Zaya‘s name and gender in an astonishing gesture of love and support. Wade is requesting a Los Angeles County Court judge to make the transition official and alter his child’s name from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade, according to legal documents submitted in court.
Dwayne Wade had to fulfil the request because Zaya was just 15 years old. The three-time NBA champion has informed the court that he has “complete power” to launch the petition even without Siohvaughn Funchess’ his ex wife’s approval. He did, however, inform Funches about the legal request as a courtesy.
Dwayne Wade’s support for his daughter
Dwayne Wade has been a strong supporter of Zaya since she came out as transgender at the age of 12. He has gone out about it, saying that he had to learn more about the LGBTQ community throughout the change. Of naturally, Dwyane Wade is concerned about his daughter. While he is a loving dad, he realises how difficult it is to influence people’ attitudes regarding members of the LGBTQ community.
“I’ve watched my son from day one come into who she now has eventually come into … Nothing changes with my love, nothing changes with my responsibilities,” Wade said back in 2019. “The only thing I got to do now is get smarter and educate myself more.”
“As blessed as it is for my daughter to have parents who can support her, I’m still afraid every moment she leaves our house,” Wade added. “And not just because of gun violence, but because of the way people perceive her in this world.”
What is Dwayne Wade doing now?
The retired three-time NBA champion has stakes in media and consumer goods. Wade, 40, has an interest in two sports clubs and hosts a television programme. Wade is also taking a risk in the unpredictable NFT sector. With a significant business decision during his prime career, he set the tone for his post-retirement years.
If you look at my basketball career, my business career has gone very similar,” he said. “I’ve always taken chances,” Wade reportedly said in an interview. “I’ve always been a guy that’s done things a little different than everybody.”
Dwayne Wade, who retired from basketball in 2019, earned roughly $200 million throughout his 16-year NBA career, according to Spotrac, a sports deal tracking website. According to Forbes, he earns $17 million a year in sponsorships. Wade even established “Wade Cellars,” a winery. He owns a portion of the media firm Players TV. He and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, co-founded Proudly, a baby goods brand. He stated that the start-up firm “arose from a need.”
