Off the court, his shocking cheating scandal shocked the entire NBA world, including his wife, Gabrielle Union.
The Hollywood actress who wasn’t married to Dwayne Wade at that time, finally managed to reveal her thoughts on the same. The incident took place when the Miami Heat gathered their formidable Big 3. It is safe to say that during his years of prime, one thing which Dwayne Wade couldn’t do, was the art of monogamy.

Gabrielle Union deserves some serious credit for sticking with Dwyane Wade through this whole process, especially when veteran couples are seemingly parting ways on one issue or the other. On the same note, she published her memoir, called ‘You Got Anything Stronger?‘ in 2021. In it, she has detailed quite a few incidents and experiences in her life. And as we mentioned, the cheating fiasco is in fact one of them.
“In 2013, before we were married, Dwyane had a baby with another woman… It should go without saying that we were not in a good place in our relationship at the time that child was conceived. But we were in a much better place when he finally told me about the pregnancy. To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience.
There are people – strangers who I will never meet, who have been upset that I have not previously talked about that trauma. I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy I am not sure I have them now. But truth matters.”
One could only hope that this particular scandal could make Dwayne Wade realize how much he means to Gabrielle, and that the couple could grow old stronger than ever.
