Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is facing another suspension from the NBA after he was seen holding a gun on an Instagram Live video while jamming to NBA YoungBoy’s new album on Saturday. This comes just two months after he was suspended for eight games for brandishing a gun at a strip club in March.
Morant has been getting a lot of criticism from fans and media for his irresponsible behavior. But not everyone is against Morant. Former NBA star Dwight Howard, who now plays for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan, showed his support for the young guard on Twitter. Howard tweeted, “Aye Ja you gone get it right ! I’m still with you if anyone else ain’t you could come out here to Taiwan if anything just leave it home”
Howard’s tweet might appear to be sincere and supportive at first, but it was just full-on trolling. Howard suggested that Morant’s career might be ruined because of his gun trouble and that he could join him in Taiwan, where the basketball quality is much lower than in the NBA.
Howard knows a thing or two about controversy himself. The eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year had a rocky career in the NBA, playing for seven different teams and having conflicts with coaches and teammates along the way. Howard left the NBA in 2022 and signed with the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League, a new professional basketball league in Taiwan that started in 2021. Howard reportedly makes $10 million per season with the Leopards, one of the highest-paid athletes in that league.
Ja Morant’s gun trouble threatens his bright future

The NBA is looking into Morant’s latest incident, which violates the league’s firearms policy that forbids players from having guns in public places or team facilities. Morant could be hit with a big fine or a longer suspension, depending on the results of the investigation. He has already been suspended from all team activities by the Grizzlies front office.
Morant has a lot of skill and potential to be one of the best players in the league. He has a loyal fan base and a supportive team that trusts him. He just needs to concentrate on basketball and stay away from firearms for the rest of his NBA career, at least.
Morant has a bright future ahead of him if he can overcome his off-the-court trouble. He averaged 26.2 points and 8.1 assists per game this season while shooting 46.6 percent of the field goals and 30.7 percent from deep. These are some impressive stats, to say the least.
