Dwight Howard has been making headlines with his desire to return to the NBA after spending time playing in Taiwan last season. Despite his individual success with the Taoyuan Leopards in the T1 League, the team’s overall performance was disappointing, as they couldn’t achieve the level of success they had hoped for. While Howard had a strong individual season, the team’s lack of success overshadowed his personal achievements.

Howard is now aiming for a fourth stint with the Los Angeles Lakers as he seeks a return to the NBA. Following a disappointing experience with the Taoyuan Leopards, where he faced a pay cut last month, Howard is determined to prove himself once again. Having already enjoyed three previous stints with the Lakers, including winning his first championship with them during the bubble season, he hopes to contribute to their success once more.

During a recent interview with Complex, Howard was asked about potential teams where he believes he can have an impact. In response, he mentioned five NBA teams that caught his interest. He listed the Sacramento Kings, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Atlanta Hawks as potential destinations where he feels he can make a positive impact.

While discussing a reunion with the Lakers, Howard said, “It’s been crazy. It’s been crazy, but it’s just for some reason we just clicked. I don’t know, you could have a little girlfriend or whatever and it’s just, y’all done been together, y’all done broke up. You done tried other girlfriends but it’s just some type of connection y’all got… We had the championship run there and I wish we would’ve had a chance to keep going because that was the squad right there. We had everything.”

The Lakers are currently on the lookout for a big man to fill the center position, allowing Anthony Davis to play as a power forward. However, the history between Howard and the Lakers from their last run may present some challenges. Additionally, the Lakers are cautious about offering Howard a long-term deal due to his age, despite his impressive experience and accomplishments.

While Howard’s resume is stacked, he is not the same explosive player he once was. The Lakers are also considering the possibility of adding young talent to their core, ensuring a promising future for the team. Ultimately, the decision lies with Rob Pelinka, the Lakers’ General Manager

Fans are letting loose on Twitter as they engage in heated discussions about Dwight Howard’s potential fourth stint with the Lakers. Amidst the buzz, some express concern, advising him to consider retirement or to continue playing in Taiwan. In playful banter, some fans even humorously suggest that the NBA can thrive perfectly well without his presence. Here’s a glimpse of the myriad reactions flooding Twitter.

While some believe Howard could still be a valuable veteran mentor, others argue that for that role, he might be better suited to join a rebuilding team with available roster spots. As the Lakers are title contenders and have only one spot left, there’s debate about whether Howard could fill the need for a solid big man. Nonetheless, if they choose to bring him back, the prospect of watching Anthony Davis and Howard in the frontcourt again is undeniably intriguing.
