According to Matt Reigle of the Outkick, Siohvaughn Funches said, “I have concerns that (Dwyane Wade) may be pressuring our child to move forward with the name and gender change in order to capitalize on the financial opportunities that has received from companies.”
She also said, “I am concerned that our child is being commercialized at a young age and also of the uncontrollable consequences of media.” Ever since her announcement, Dwyane Wade has always shown his support towards his daughter while even publicly acknowledging that Zaya is indeed transgender.
