Dwyane Wade confirms he thought he would be part of Miami Heat ownership after his retirement

Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade was at the All-star game this week and his presence was much more than the ex-NBA player. Wade is an owner of the Utah Jazz and his city was hosting the weekend. He had a legendary playing career for the Miami Heat, which prompted Draymond to ask him why not Miami. “Yeah, I think everyone expected that right? I even expected that at some point, but life happens“, said D-Wade.

Dwyane Wade purchased minority ownership in 2021. He describes his relationship with Ryan – as a very close buddy. “If anybody sees us together man, we’re like old friends,” said Wade on his bond with Ryan. It would have surely been a wish for Wade to have the opportunity to be involved with Miami.

Dwyane Wade claims to be learning more and more about the job every day. “There’s so much to learn, I’m excited to be a student and learn,” said Wade about being involved in the ownership of a team. Wade is committed to this new chapter in his career as an owner and looks to bring joy to the city of Utah. The Utah Jazz has never won the NBA championship and neither had the Miami Heat when Wade joined them. Jazz fans will hope Wade can break their championship curse too.

Dwyane Wade is going to be a Hall Of Famer

Dwyane Wade has made the finalists for the 2023 Hall Of Fame batch. That’s right! The all-time points leader for Miami Heat is ready to be inducted into NBA royalty. Wade spent 13 full years at the Miami Heat winning 3 championships and 1 Finals MVP. The Flash famously won the title in 2006 against fellow inductee Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks.

Wade went on to win two more championships with LeBron James in 2012 and 2013. He will forever be remembered for his iconic game-winners, punishing dunks, and scoring prowess. “To know that my body of work was considered to be a Hall Of Famer, man I couldn’t ask for anything better,” said Wade. The Miami Heat will forever be indebted to Dwyane Wade for his contributions.

Dwyane Wade will be a part of a stacked draft class along with Dirk Nowitzki and coach Gregg Popovich. Popovich has coached the most games in NBA history with the San Antonio Spurs. Dirk Nowitzki of course beat Wade and the Heat in 2011 to win his only championship. Wade beat Gregg Popovich to win his third championship which is what connects this entire draft class. It is always incredible to see such legends being honored.
