“I will take your family, your children, your wife!” Ex-Warriors player ATTACKED by man with scissors in front of his children

Unexpected events occurred among the NBA community. A man attacked former Golden State Warriors star Nemanja Bjelica. This took place in Belgrade. He is a professional basketball player from Serbia. In international competition, Bjelica wore the senior Serbian national team uniform. According to several Serbian media sources, former football player Nikola Petković threatened Nemanja Bjelica.
Nikola Petković was the attacker and he threatened him and his family in a children’s playroom. Petkovic attacked him and threatened him with a pair of scissors. He even insulted him with many harsh and cruel words. Petkovic verbally assaulted Bjelica’s family including his wife and kids.
According to some media sources and police reports, Nikola Petkovic said,
I will take your family, your wife, your children, and you. I will take your money.
He reportedly confirmed to the 35-year-old basketball star that he “would stab him with scissors” as well.
Nikola Petkovic, a football player for Crvena Zvezda and other European teams including Eintracht Frankfurt, was detained immediately and is currently being questioned by authorities at the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade. When this news was announced, it was shocking. This was not some criminal but a well-known athlete, who had been caught committing a serious crime.
Nemanja Bjelica’s NBA career
Nemanja Bjelica is a Serbian basketball player and he has played basketball for almost 16 years. Before coming to NBA he played in four different leagues. Bjelica was drafted in 2010 for the 2nd round, and he was the 35th overall pick. When Bjelica signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015, he was a 27-year-old rookie who spent three seasons on the team. He played 7 seasons for four teams and had 7.6 PPG in 449 regular season games.
A few days after abandoning a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers to return to Europe, Bjelica signed a $20.5 million, three-year contract with the Sacramento Kings on July 21, 2018. He also gave three seasons for the Kings. And in 2021, Bjelica was traded to Miami Heat. It was just 5 months later when Bjelica inked a contract with the Golden State Warriors on August 6, 2021.
He won several awards in his NBA career. One of the biggest achievements was being the NBA champion in 2022 with the Golden State Warriors. He was the fourth player who win the NBA championship from his home country Serbia. He has also achieved records such as EuroLeague MVP, All EuroLeague first team, and many more.
