In their first game of group play for the In-Season Tournament, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns 122-119 on the road. In the end, the Lakers’ victory was sealed by a variety of clutch baskets and defensive plays, but LeBron James, who finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, and new starting shooting guard Cam Reddish, who finished with 17 points, led LA in scoring.

The Suns vs Lakers was a hard-fought game. Thanks in large part to several clutch plays from LeBron James and Cam Reddish, the Los Angeles side churned out a win. With 1:10 remaining in the game, Reddish’s corner three-pointer, assisted by James, increased the Lakers’ lead to 118-113. The Lakers managed to win with just a five-point margin. After the game, LeBron had a few words for his teammates and especially for Cam.

LeBron responded to all his haters, saying:

“To all the naysayers and basketball savants that don’t know nothing about basketball and telling me I should’ve shot that shot in Miami… I did the same thing tonight because I trust my teammates. I make the right play every single time. Game ball go to Cam Reddish, for sure.”

Reddish missed a wide-open jumper against the Miami Heat on Monday, but James still has faith in him. The four-time MVP was asked if he saw any differences in his new teammate after the game. James replied that having spent training camp and the preseason with him, he had seen nothing unusual.

Fans were in awe of Cam Reddish and LeBron James’ incredible performance at Suns vs Lakers game

Before the game versus the Phoenix Suns, LeBron James’s average from beyond the arc was a mere 31.0%. With only 12.5% of his three-pointers made, Cam Reddish had a terrible start to his three-point career. The LA Lakers’ three-point percentage of just 29.6% put them at the bottom of the NBA. However, Lakers fans’ faith has grown stronger after witnessing Cam beat the Suns in the closing seconds.

Fans are very happy with the team’s performance and the decision of Cam not to be benched was successful. X formally known as Twitter seems to be flooded with the appreciation of Cam Reddish. People are comparing him to Scottie Pippen and when he was in his prime, which is a big thing for any player. After his poor performance against the Heat, it was the most needed match the Lakers desired very badly, and they had their way.

Luckily for the Lakers, Reddish and James both hit their marks tonight. Reddish was 5-8 while the four-time MVP was 3-4. They shot 12-27 for 44.4% as a team, easily their most effective game of the season. The Lakers’ victory was aided by Cam Reddish’s two clutch corner threes late in the game.
