Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant is a basketball icon that shook the world with his presence. This man single-handedly managed to revive the Los Angeles Lakers dynasty during the 2000s following their three-peat between 2000 and 2002. Famously known as the Black Mamba, he was considered to be one of the biggest stars out of the NBA who shaped the lives of many current-generation players.

Unfortunately in January 2020, the world was trampled by his tragic passing. He met his end due to a helicopter crash and along with him, his daughter and eight individuals lost their lives. The world of basketball continues to reflect on his incredible journey and people have come forth to show their respect toward him.

World-famous sporting goods brand, Adidas has planned on re-releasing a one-of-a-kind signature shoe that belonged to Kobe Bryant. The shoes that were named “Crazy 1” have been reissued in the market over the last couple of months with colorways such as the Sunshine and Stormtrooper being sold.

Adidas plans on re-releasing another colorway called “Lakers Home” on 11th November 2022, according to Hypebeast. This colorway features the iconic yellow and purple shades that represent the Lakers. These shoes in particular have not been on the shelves since 2006 and the german shoe company believes this is the right way to honor the late great legend.

DeMar DeRozan is another player who idolized Kobe Bryant before joining the NBA. His incredible midrange shot is said to be very similar to how Bryant modeled his own. Following the legend’s passing, Nike was on the verge of forever terminating its deal with the Bryant family and stopping the production of Kobe’s iconic signature shoes.

In August of this year, DeRozan signed a four-year contract with Nike to keep the sneaker line alive and to represent the Black Mamba. Now that Kobe’s legacy is in safe hands, fans are slowly starting to putting things into place with Adidas’ decision to re-release older models. Here are a few reactions.
