“See everyone knows he’s a buddy merchant” Fans react as Evan Turner requests NBA to rename the Bubble Championship after LeBron James
LeBron James has been on the hunt for another title, but his luck hasn’t been the best lately. After winning four titles, he is inching his way up the GOAT ranking to beat his biggest rival Michael Jordan, but some say he simply lacks the titles. Some even say that he has only three titles considering that the fourth one was more or less an easy win because of the pandemic.
The Los Angeles Lakers were the favorites to win the title coming into the 2019-2020 season, however, everything came to a standstill when the deadly virus began to spread like wildfire. The NBA eventually announced the NBA bubble were only selected teams that possessed a good enough record were allowed to participate.
Most players that took part in the bubble games were coming off nearly three months of absolutely no practice. Many were rusty. LeBron James was on the other end of the spectrum. The Lakers were in good form. Eventually they reached the NBA Finals that season and took home the trophy. Many criticize that LeBron and his squad had the easy way out as most players were not in form. Evan Turner recently fired shots as well.
The NBA announced a set of new awards or renamed trophies that were solely to pay respects to players such as Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Wilt Chamberlain and many more. They also announced a new accolade called the Most Clutch Player of the Year. Turner took his chance to bully LeBron James saying that the bubble trophy needed to be named after the Laker himself. Turner’s troll caught the interests of NBA fans, who reacted:
LeBron James delivers stunning performances despite Lakers messy slump
LeBron James still continues to put up outstanding numbers. He will be closing 38 years old this month, becoming one of the oldest players around. With very little time left on the clock, James has been trying his best to win another title before his career comes to an end. With the Lakers’ current situation, it may take another season to get to a point where they consistently win.
LeBron James is averaging 26.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game this season shooting 47.5% from the field. His last two performances with the Lakers resulted in a win over the Pistons and loss to the Celtics, but the King managed to put up high numbers for the team. He finished with 35 against Detroit and 33 points against the Celtics. He was short off one rebound and an assist from a triple-double.
