Victor Wembanyama hasn’t even played a single minute of NBA action, but has already got into trouble and made some controversial headlines. His security official named Damian Smith got into a slapping incident with Britney Spears. The singer was trying to get Wembanyama’s attention for a photo. But to keep her away from the San Antonio Spurs star, the security official ended up striking her.
Britney Spears later on social media claimed that she was backhanded in the face and it was overall a traumatic experience for her. But still, the stories aren’t matching, since Spears is claiming of tapping Victor Wembanyama’s shoulder to congratulate him. But Wemby who was completely unaware of the situation until the next morning, claims to be grabbed on the back.
Victor Wembanyama talking about the incident quoted: “I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and didn’t stop. That person grabbed me from behind – not on my shoulder, she grabbed me from behind. I just know the security pushed her away. Also, I don’t know with how much force but security pushed her away. I didn’t stop to look so I could walk in and enjoy a nice dinner.”
Britney Spears and her husband though demanded the Las Vegas Police Department to take quick action and punish the guard. But recently, TMZ reported that no charges will be pressed against Victor Wembanyama’s security guard. During the police investigation, Britney Spears’s security team honestly mentioned how the moment was unintentionally done and how she wasn’t hit with a closed fist.
They also mentioned: “This is a standard response for most security/bodyguards… it would not be uncommon for them to respond this way.” Even the video footage has backed us up and it turns out to be Spears’ hand which she hit hurt herself with. The investigation report as per TMZ Sports read: “Due to the fact that [Wembanyama’s guard] DID NOT willfully or unlawfully use any force or violence upon Britney. Nd probable cause did not exist an Arrest was not made and a Citation was not given… no charges will be filed.” The investigation concluded on Friday morning and Spears is yet to respond.

Victor Wembanyama though is just hours away from making his Summer League Debut in Las Vegas with the Same Antonio Spurs against the Brandon Miller-led Charlotte Hornets.
