New Orleans Pelicans player Jose Alvarado made a surprise move to tackle NBA legend LeBron James. This move of his raised many eyebrows in the NBA world and social media was flooded with reactions. It even came as surprise to the LA Lakers’ King James. Maybe people are forgetting that’s Jose’s signature move from his college days and he is really good at it.
Los Angeles Lakers were playing against the New Orleans Pelicans. In the last quarter, when about 9 mins were remaining, the Pelicans scored a basket, and one of the LA Lakers players collected the ball to start from the outside. He then passed the ball to LeBron James, who didn’t notice Jose Alvarado was keeping a close eye on him, hiding in the corner. As soon as James got the ball, Jose pounced on it and stole it from LeBron.
This move awakened James, but Jose couldn’t get a proper hand on the ball. Luckily one of his teammates got the ball, and the game continued. It was a very closely contested games, but the LA Lakers ousted the Pelicans and came out as a better side. Fans gave out some funny reactions on Twitter which can be seen below:
LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers win back-to-back games

The LA Lakers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans to pocket the second win of the season. LeBron James had 20 points, ten rebounds and eight assists for the Lakers. While Russell Westbrook, who was playing as a reserve for the 21st time in his 1,027-game NBA career, had 13 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in another solid game coming off the bench. He headed the impressive 17-2 Lakers run in the final three minutes of the first half to take a 56-44 lead going into the half-time.
Anthony Davis had 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Lakers. Inspite of having some back issues, he still got on the court. Coach Darvin Ham praised Davis for his heroics and his commitments. The Pelicans’ Zion Williamson scored 27 points, and McCollum had 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists for the Pelicans. The match got intense when Ryan hit a match tying 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer.
But the Lakers playing with a new approach, came over all the challenges to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 120-117 in OT. The LA Lakers will be hoping to continue their stellar performance when they host the Golden State Warriors on Friday. On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans will play against the Utah Jazz on the same day.
