Chicago Bulls hosted the Golden State Warriors at the United Center and during half time the Bulls were celebrating their inaugural class for the organization’s new Ring of Honor which featured 13 men and the entire 1995-96 team, which went 72-10 and won the NBA championship.  The list featured Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, as well as Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson, and Jerry Krause, who was general manager of the Bulls from 1985 to 2003.

The ceremony saw the absence of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. Bad weather led to the cancellation of Rodman’s travel plans. However, both Rodman and Jordan submitted video messages, acknowledging the honor despite their physical absence.

Taking a sour turn, the ceremony witnessed loud boos from some fans directed at Jerry Krause, the former Chicago general manager who passed away in 2017. Thelma Krause, his widow, visibly expressed emotion in response to the fans’ reception. Jerry, the architect of the Bulls’ championship-winning team, bore the blame from fans for the team’s downfall. Notably, Jordan openly despised him as revealed in the documentary, “Last Dance”, and he is widely held responsible for Phil Jackson’s exit in 1998.
