On Monday night, the Portland Trail Blazers trailed the Miami Heat within the fourth quarter, but that wasn’t an issue for a squad who, after more than a week of recovery, had finally restored Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons into the starting lineup. Lillard and Simons attracted defensive focus and scored the majority of the team’s points, but Dame fed Portland’s forwards for clear looks, sparking a massive comeback. Then, with the score tied and Portland in control of the final possession, Josh Hart did something that may have been the highlight of the year.

With 6.2 seconds left in the game, Miami’s Max Strus hit a 3-pointer to tie it. Damian Lillard drove most of the way downcourt without the Trail Blazers taking a timeout, and Josh Hart, who grabbed the pass, made a perfect three-point jumper to give Portland a much-needed victory over the Heat. When Hart made the shot, the Blazers rushed off the bench to celebrate with him, and during the post-game interview, the entire team held up the iconic “Dame Time” celly alongside him.

Portland edges out Miami in a dramatic end to the game

The Trail Blazers defeated the Miami Heat 110-107 on Monday night, with Josh Hart’s game-winning 3-pointer finishing a superb offensive performance for Portland. For the Trailblazers, Anfernee Simons scored 25, Jerami Grant contributed 23, Lillard scored 19 points, while Hart and Justice Winslow each scored 12. The Blazers fell behind for the majority of the final three quarters until shooting 8 for 8 from the field in the final six minutes of the contest and 13 for 17 in the final period.

Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Strus all had 16 each for the Heat. Lowry and Gabe Vincent each scored 15 points also for them while Caleb Martin and Dewayne Dedmon each scored 10 points. With a record of 4-7 following this loss, the Miami Heat are off to a sluggish start, even though the Eastern Conference and league standings don’t seem to be very troubling. They lost to Portland after suffering a loss to the young Indiana Pacers the game before.

Fans in total excitement as Josh Hart sinks the game winning three pointer

Before Josh Hart’s teammates interrupted his post-game interview on the court by splashing water on his head, Hart said: “This is a team that grinds. We got stops and happy we got the win.. Nah don’t do that!” and was seen running away. Josh Hart nearly produced a triple-double and had the second-best plus-minus rating despite having five turnovers which was also capped with a buzzer-beater.

This is how the fans reacted to Hart’s game winner:

As the scary Western conference continues, the 7-3 Trail Blazers should be among the favorites this season. If more plays like this one are made, no one will want to face Portland. It’s also a nice comeback after the Phoenix Suns demolished them in their previous game on the previous Saturday after Jerami Grant stunned them in Phoenix with a game-winner.
