Michael Jordan might be the GOAT of basketball but his life off-the-court wasn’t as smooth as it was on it. During his years of struggle and even during his reign of terror, there was one person who was always beside MJ to support him – Juanita Vanoy. The pair was deemed as the ideal ‘lovebirds’ until it all went haywire, 17 years after their marriage. 

90’s was all about Michael Jordan and his every-growing legendary. While many thought that the media never gave him any personal space, everybody seemed to have wanted one glance of the Chicago Bulls legend. While Juanita had to suffer from the wrath of media as well, MJ’s father, James had predicted long before the couple’s marriage that anyone would struggle to keep up with Michael Jordan.

Michael Jordan’s father clearly had a huge and powerful impact on him. During the early years of His Airness’ career in the league, his father admitted that everyone wanted a piece of his son. He said, “Everybody wants a little piece of Michael.” 

Moreover, he also revealed that it would take a special type of woman to keep up with his son. “It would take a really strong woman to marry him now and live a type of life he has to live and feel like she’s being treated fairly,” James said.

While it may have been too demanding, it proved to be right as MJ became one of the most popular names on the planet. From those days onwards, Michael Jordan remains to be the biggest sporting icon – despite it being two decades. Just goes onto show the glamour, charisma, charm and stardom Michael Jordan spread not just in America, but all over the world. 

Talking about Jordan and Vanoy, the latter had initially filed for divorce in 2002 but the couple tried to work things out. Eventually, they couldn’t reconcile, and they announced their split in 2006. After which both have moved in completely different directions.
