LeBron James has been defying father time for years, but he finally showed some cracks in his armor against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. The Lakers superstar missed two shots that he normally makes with ease, and that could have changed the momentum of the game.

The first one came in the second quarter, when James got a beautiful outlet pass from Rui Hachimura and had a clear path to the basket for an easy slam dunk. But he lost control of the ball and failed to complete the slam, much to the delight of the Nuggets fans.

The second one happened a few minutes later, when James had a wide-open layup that he somehow missed. He looked stunned and annoyed as he headed back on defense, while the Nuggets scored on the other end.

James ended up with 10 points, six assists and five rebounds in the first half of the game, but he also had two turnovers and shot 4-of-9 from the field and 0-of-2 from deep. The Lakers led 53-48 at the end of the first half.

It’s a tight battle in the West as the Lakers and the Nuggets clash in Game 2. The Lakers have a slim five-point edge at halftime, but the Nuggets have the momentum after stealing Game 1 behind Nikola Jokic’s monster performance. The Serbian star posted a historic triple-double with 34 points, 21 boards and 14 dimes, leading his team to a stunning comeback win. The Lakers need to bounce back and level the series, while the Nuggets aim to extend their lead and put more pressure on the Lakers.
