Lebron James has always been dragged into controversies by many media figures during his tenure in the league. Amongst those controversies, another one has arisen which involves famous sports host Michelle Beadle, who was fired from her role in 2019 and has placed the blame on LeBron.

Michelle Beadle was an up-and-coming host who started co-hosting ‘SportsNation’ in 2009. Following a successful stint there, she transferred to ESPN in 2014, where she became a staple of the broadcasting network. There was little to no talk after she was fired from her position in 2019 and replaced by fan favourite Rachel Nichols.

In a recent episode of the Awful Announcing podcast, Beadle talked about how her criticism of LeBron James’ “The Decision” played a role in her getting fired from ESPN. According to her, LeBron did not take a liking to her opinion about it. She said, “You know, he’s a powerful dude. I mean, there’s no getting around that he is an empire and an entity upon himself. All the respect for building such a powerful entity on a name and doing it well. So, yeah, people are going to listen.”

Michelle Beadle further elaborates on the role of LeBron James and Rachel Nichols in getting her fired

According to Michelle Beadle, LeBron James wasn’t the only voice involved in her firing from ESPN. She further elaborated on how her replacement and fan-favorite host Rachel Nichols also played a vital role alongside LeBron James in her losing the position. She explained how Nichols had also changed the narrative around her own firing from the network in 2022, describing how big of an influence she has.

Both Nichols and Beadle have had successful careers after being let go from ESPN. Nichols has found a job with Fox Sports and continues to be among the fan favorites, while Beadle has found a job with Sirius XM where she hosts a new show.
