“Never seen a President break up a fight himself” Fight breaks out in crowd during Hornets vs Lakers NBA Summer League clash

Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers

At the Thomas & Mack Center on Sunday, the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 89-86, in double overtime of the NBA 2K23 Summer League. The Summer League Lakers lost their game in Las Vegas, going 0-2 as they appeared to pay respect to the actual Lakers from last season. Jones’ potential game-winning shot went wide in the final second, forcing a second extra period. When the quarter began, Scotty Pippen Jr. had a chance to win it, but his 3-point attempt went out of bounds, setting up JT Thor for the victory.

It appears that a brawl broke out during the competition, and a man was seen beating another man in many videos. Unknown as to what sparked the altercation, NBA Summer League co-founder and president Albert Hall was spotted reacting right away and physically separating the confrontation.

Rookies imitating the last season performance of Lakers?

The Charlotte Hornets overcame the Los Angeles Lakers with a game-winning triple in double overtime on Sunday Night. Cole Swider, who had 21 points and four rebounds, was the Lakers’ top scorer. Mason Jones led the bench with 13 points,  while Scotty Pippen Jr. finished with 10 points, seven assists, and three steals. Pippen Jr. is becoming more and more noticeable as the summer goes on as h e has many scoring options and the capacity to control an attack. He already has a strong case for possible minutes with the main Lakers next season because he possesses a general sense of the game that cannot be taught.

Darvin Ham, the head coach of the Lakers, was present in attendance and spoke with Steve Smith and Chris Miles at the NBA TV broadcast table about his goals for the next season. Coach Ham expressed his excitement to having Russell Westbrook on the team and complemented him for his tenacity and playing style. His remarks coincide with current rumours that the team is trying to deal for Westbrook and Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets. Recently, Westbrook attended a Lakers Summer League game and sat across the floor from LeBron James the whole time.
