NBA Finals injury report: Is Tyler Herro playing tonight in Game 5 against Denver Nuggets?

Tyler Herro

The Miami Heat have been without Tyler Herro since Game 1 of the first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. The guard basically suffered a season-ending injury as he fractured his right hand while driving on the floor to get his hands on a loose ball. But with him recovering over the past weeks, Tyler Herro was rumored to return around Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

The Miami Heat team didn’t really suffer a lot after losing Tyler Herro. As knocking out Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics they put on a legendary run and have made it to the NBA Finals.

Herro could make his return tonight against the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals. His status on the injury report has been upgraded to questionable and we may finally spectate the bucket drilling buckets with championship dreams being on the line. But as per the reports he hasn’t completely healed and it’s necessary for him to not suffer a setback ahead of Game 5 in order to suit up.

Tyler Herro was also considering not making a return back to the team during the ongoing NBA Finals. As that may mess up the rhythm of the team. But now it’s very clear that the team wants him back. As the undrafted talent is just not enough to defeat the dynamic duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray which is backed by a deep team. Also, if Tyler Herro is able to shoot well with his still-healing hands, he can bring up the shooting numbers of the team and help them escape the struggling phase.

Where is Tyler Herro playing?

Tyler Herro will be playing as a shooting guard for the team. And, Erik Spoelstra wouldn’t probably play around with his position and put him straight in the starting line-up. Also, he isn’t just limited to the shooting guard role and is very capable of running the point guard position too as he can bring the ball up with his deep bag of skills. But it’s always better to have him down and ready to drill some buckets. As his catch-and-shoot game is just different.

Tyler Herro during the regular season averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 0.8 steals. The Heat Nation would be excited for their guard returning back to play. As he’s capable of having a direct impact on both ends of the floor. But since he’ll be back after a long time he’ll need the team to back him up and get going. As pressuring a not-completely healed player during the biggest game of his career won’t be a great idea.

Tyler is one of the best fantasy picks for such games and he isn’t someone who’ll disappoint you. There are reasons he’s nicked BUCKET by the fans. His ability to ball out in clutch and keep the game alive by drilling buckets and clowning his opponents with his handles is godly. So predicting him to be good can’t really go wrong. And, even if he’s not able to contribute with the numbers. He’ll surely have an impact on the game.

But let’s not forget he isn’t completely healed and is still battling some soreness in his right hand. Also, his status has been upgraded to questionable and that’s not a confirmed appearance for him. So picking him on your team and him not showing up has some real chances. But risking that move with him balling out and extending the series can land you a bag. Also, we won’t have to wait a lot for the starting lineup to be revealed and his final status to be announced. As the game is just some hours away.
