The Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets face off yet again in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The Nuggets defeated the Lakers 132-126, sealing the deal with a 6-point margin as the Lakers’ offense succumbed to Nikola Jokic and the team in the first half. Even the second half didn’t bring a lot of change as LeBron James’ antics might’ve potentially cost the Lakers the game. After a harsh loss, the Lakers are now going all in, in Game 2 of the Conference Finals. However, Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell might’ve faced the worst of this pressure.
The intensity between both teams is at an all-time high and it clearly shows in the plays that have taken place so far in the game. The highlight so far was D’Angelo Russell’s foul on Jamal Murray, which resulted in a technical foul for the former. With right around 3 minutes left in the first quarter, Dennis Schroder attempted to pass the ball to Lonnie Walker. Murray interfered and stole the ball as he drove toward the opposite side of the court.
While other Lakers players followed, Russell had no plans of letting Murray score. Murray drove down the paint and jumped for a thunderous dunk as Russell jumped, too. Murray was met with a big block attempt from Russell as the former took a hard fall to the ground. The referees immediately called a foul on Russell, taking both players away. D’Angelo Russell was granted a Flagrant 1 foul for the same.
D’Angelo Russell was given a controversial Flagrant 1 call, as everyone in the arena, including James, could only ask, “What did he do?”

The high-intensity moment between Murray and D’Angelo Russell, which was nothing but a good attempt to stop their rival from scoring, was deemed a Flagrant 1 foul. This call from the NBA officials drew immediate criticism from fans inside the stadium, and all across the world, as it was seen on Twitter.
