Derrick Rose was a bit of game changer for the young guns back in the day. Before the age of 25, the player had already achieved the biggest accolades anyone could have been awarded. His incredibly athletic nature had the world wondering if he was the next GOAT.

Ironically for Rose, he was drafted into the Chicago Bulls team. This team did not see a good season ever since the Michael Jordan superteam had disbanded. The young man’s arrival was revival and it did not disappoint. But his career was never a bed of roses.

During his recent press conference with the New York Knicks, he said, “The reality is I’m 33, turning 34 tomorrow. That guy that I used to be, had an ego. I been killed that ego a long time ago. So I’m a totally different person, which I should be. I’m way more mature and still trying to challenge myself to be more vocal and I think its rubbing off on the young guns.”

In April 2012, this marked the beginning of the decline of Derrick Rose’s career. At the age of 23, he tore his ACL which is a very scary situation for some his age. Following this he also tore his meniscus in the future thus putting him through a series of trials and tribulations for a good four years.

He eventually regained momentum after fully recovering from his injuries in 2018. At this stage, he was playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged a good 18 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He also scored a career high of 50 points against the Utah Jazz.

Now, after signing a three-year $43 million deal with the New York Knicks, injuries have once again hindered his performances. He had to go through treatment for his right ankle after enduring an injury back in December 2021. But now, he seems all set to complete his contract with the team in hopes of putting on a show.
