In a recent interview, former LA Clippers star Lou Williams openly acknowledged that the trade, which brought one of the league’s top players, Paul George, to the Clippers in exchange for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Oklahoma City Thunder, was a regrettable decision. Williams expressed that the trade should not have occurred, even if it had involved bringing George to the Clippers’ roster.

Williams revealed that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was one of the Clippers’ up-and-coming and highly talented players before his departure. The former NBA player highlighted the effort Shai had invested in his development and his commitment to continually improving his performance.

We were heartbroken when he got traded. Absolutely, we were crushed. Even though it was for Paul George. We knew who PG was, but he had time and energy into his development.
Willaims said on his appearance on the show ‘Run it Back’.

It’s safe to say that Williams was not pleased with the Clippers’ decision to trade away Shai. The young guard has unquestionably solidified his position as one of the premier guards in the league, and it’s evident that he’s only beginning to tap into his immense potential.
