Nick Wright had a strong take on the Warriors v Kings playoff series just like his fellow colleagues and pundits. The Warriors vs Kings series has been engulfed in controversy ranging from terrible fouls to biased officiating. Despite Draymond Green taking the centre stage for his brutal foul against Domantas Sabonis, the series is still amidst controversy. Various NBA Analysts and pundits have alleged foul play and biases in the officiating of this series. Apparently, the officials are “favoring” the Kings in this series, and this view isn’t limited to a few people.
In the context of the Kings-Warriors series, Nick Wright, Fox Sports analyst, criticized his colleague Ric Bucher for suggesting that there was an “asterisk” on the series. The term “asterisk” suggested that Kings’ victories were less legitimate due to biased refereeing.
Wright accused Bucher of playing a “tiny and pathetic violin” by suggesting that the referees were conspiring to help the Sacramento Kings at the expense of the Golden State Warriors. This implies that Bucher’s claims are exaggerated and that he is being overly dramatic about a minor issue.
Nick Wright said, “I’m listening to colleagues that I respect playing the tiniest and most pathetic violin about the referees having a conspiracy to help the Sacramento Kings at the expense of the Golden State Warriors.”
Wright backed up his allegations by stating that the Warriors throughout the season had committed comparatively more fouls. He added that the Warriors had been terrible at drawing free-throws unlike the Kings, who were 5th in the league.
Nick Wright “proven right” after Golden State Warriors take the dub against Sacramento Kings
In the past, Ric Bucher made controversial comments about the Kings-Warriors series. He suggested that the NBA had given the series to the Sacramento Kings. He also felt that the league’s decision to punish Draymond Green cast an asterisk over the series. Bucher expressed concern that the punishment of Green would taint the legitimacy of the series and suggested that it could give the Kings an unfair advantage. These comments sparked debate among sports fans and analysts. While some agreed with Bucher’s assessment, others criticized him for making unfounded accusations.
After all the controversial discussions and Nick Wright’s reply, the series seems to have taken a turn. In a crucial moment of the Kings-Warriors series, the Golden State Warriors were able to overcome a 0-2 deficit against the Sacramento Kings by winning Game 3. Warriors’ victory was a turning point in the series after being outplayed by the Kings in the first two games.
Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors with 36 points, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole followed with 20 and 16 respectively in a combined effort for the team to win. De’Aaron Fox led the way for his team with 26 points, 9 assists, and 9 rebounds, yet, his team lost. Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabonis followed with 17 and 15 points respectively.
The Warriors will meet the Kings again in Game 4 of the series at Chase Center.
