NBA G League players usually try to get scout’s attention for their play on the court. But one player will likely switch from the basketball court to a criminal court after he was arrested recently. A 23-year-old woman named Marayna Rodgers has been missing for the last ten days.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigated using surveillance footage and cell phone tower location. The tracking brought them to arrest the suspect, a young woman named Sakari Harnden, 19, on December 13th. After interrogation, Harnden revealed Stockton Kings G League player Chance Comanche was her co-conspirator in the murder of Rodgers. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Bureau arrested Comanche at his team’s practice facility on December 14.

Chance Comanche and Harnden plotted the murder around the Stockton Kings game in Las Vegas, interrogations revealed. After the game, Harnden and Comanche picked up Rodgers at a liquor store after midnight.
Comanche introduced himself as a customer. Later on, with the premise of “kink,” Comanche used an HDMI cord to strangle Rodgers from the back seat of Harnden’s car. Harnden joined in by choking Rodgers’s neck. Both are currently in County Jail on a non-bailable open murder charge after admitting to murdering Rodgers and hiding her body.
Sacramento Kings G League affiliate Stockton Kings released Comanche after his arrest. He has played one NBA game, which was last season with the Portland Trailblazers. The 27-year-old had 7 points and three rebounds in 21 minutes in their 157 – 101 to the Golden State Warriors.
