“Emotions are for movies not for basketball” Giannis Antetokounmpo gets brutally honest as Bucks drop Game 4 late in fourth quarter vs Celtics

Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo in what looked like a match-up that was going to end with a 3-1 series lead against the Boston Celtics. However, propelled by a mind boggling performance from Al Horford and Jayson Tatum’s brilliance, Boston rallied to win Game 4 and tie the series at two apiece.

“The Greek Freak” was dominant as he has been throughout the season, finishing with 34 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. But the 34 point double-double, just was not quite enough to grip the win. As usual, the Celtics threw everything they had and more at the six-time All-Star and Giannis still almost managed to carry his team to victory.

When asked about his reaction to the disappointing loss in the postgame interview, Antetokounmpo firmly replied (via Ben Golliver), “The thing about playoffs: You win, you feel great, you lose, you feel terrible… No matter what I feel, emotions are for movies, not for basketball.”

Giannis spoke like he should, a true champion in the league and one who has been through the routine of the NBA playoffs in the last several years. The rest of the Milwaukee Bucks failed to contribute at the level that Giannis is contributing. They failed to capitalize on the impact that he brings to the court, especially the paint. Despite this, Giannis has kept his head and shoulder high above the crowd and managed to dedicate himself for bagging wins for the franchise.

A loyalty and dedication that has been recognized and applauded by fans around the globe.

On the court, he never fails to show how passionate he is about the team and his teammates’ performance. As a true champion should be, there is no quit in him and it shows in his usual outbursts of enthusiasm and celebration. He is deemed as the best player in the league by many.

Antetokounmpo’s emotion-filled performance was evident in the third quarter when he posterized Boston Celtics big man Al Horford. The Greek superstar garnished his highlight play by staring down Horford. He later was handed a technical foul for the same. But the stare had done its job, and sent a cold message of challenge to Celtics.

The defending champions, even without their star Khris Middleton, are still in contention to win back-to-back titles. With the series tied at 2-2, Milwaukee will will pull everything off from their books to bag the crucial wins and keep the championship hope alove, whilst maintaining the pressure on Celtics.

In the 2021 NBA Finals, Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks trailed the Phoenix Suns 0-2. But had the poise, composure and tenacity to shut down Phoenix the rest of the way. Winning on the road in the postseason is not easy, particularly without Middleton, but the Bucks have shown they’re up to the task.

The battle will be hard-fought, physical and a no-holds-barred series where the rightful winners will be hard-pressed to keep their emotions in check, movies or not.
