During a media interaction, Antetokounmpo shared his thoughts on the NBA legend, stating:

Some guys might say he is No. 2, but other guys like me, I say he is No. 1, and he’s still going.

Antetokounmpo conveyed his deep admiration for the NBA legend, who is embarking on his 21st season in the league. He emphasized how James serves as an exemplary figure for aspiring players and athletes.

For 21 years, you never get in trouble, to be able to take in his family, protect this family, raise his kids the right way, you know, be happily married, all those things, it’s perfect,” he said. “He’s kind of like setting the blueprint for the rest of us to go forward. That’s what I want. I want to be able to do what I do on the court consistently, be good, be healthy, be available for my team, be able to, you know, raise my family in a bubble away from what I do on the court for them to have a normal life as much as I can. Stay out of trouble.

Antetokounmpo added:

And hopefully one day, you know, when I’m done from the game of basketball…maybe you mention me? I don’t know. But he sets up the blueprint for all the athletes that enter the NBA to follow.

In a pre-game interview leading up to the Lakers’ regular season opener on October 24 against the Denver Nuggets, James underscored that his intention in joining the Lakers was unequivocally to win.

He said:

When I came here, I felt like I didn’t just want to be here for a short stint,” he said. “I came in with the notion that I wanted to help this franchise get back to the postseason…and be able to put another one of those Larry O'Brien trophies back in Jeanie Buss’ office. And I was able to do that. [I want to] move one of those Larry O’Brien trophies to the side and put another one up.

As he embarks on his 21st season, LeBron James remains fueled by his unwavering motivation, with the relentless pursuit of another championship consistently occupying his thoughts.
