Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has had enough of watching Saudi Arabian clubs sign some of the best soccer players in the world. Antetokounmpo posted a video on Twitter of him juggling a football with his feet and wrote, “497 498 499 500 Saudi Pro League still need strikers?!”

The tweet was probably a reference to the reports of Saudi clubs spending huge amounts of money to lure players like Cristiano Ronaldo to their league. Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 on a $215 million-per-year deal.

Antetokounmpo’s tweet comes at a time when his future with the Bucks is in doubt. The two-time MVP underwent an offseason procedure on his left knee, which could rule him out of representing Greece at the FIBA World Cup in August.

Antetokounmpo had been dealing with discomfort in his knee since the start of the offseason, according to ESPN’s Jamal Collier. The surgery was described as a “cleanup procedure,” and the Bucks expect him to be ready for training camp in September.

Antetokounmpo might not be happy with the direction of the team, which suffered a shocking first-round exit in the playoffs against the Miami Heat. He missed some crucial games due to a back injury and could not prevent the Bucks from being swept by the Heat.

The Bucks will have a familiar core around Giannis, as they locked up Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez in free agency. They did lose some depth in Joe Ingles and Jevon Carter, but they added Malik Beasley, a lethal shooter, and Jae Crowder, a versatile defender, to bolster their bench. The Bucks are determined to bounce back from their playoff disappointment and prove they are still contenders in the East.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is enjoying his offseason, playing soccer and honing his skills. But he won’t be complacent. The MVP will be eager to start the new season and chase another ring. Bucks fans can expect Giannis to be hungry and motivated in the 2023-2024 campaign.
