“He hasn’t added any new skill” Gilbert Arena doubles down on Giannis Antetokounmpo not understanding basketball
Giannis Antetokounmpo is considered to be arguably the best basketball player currently. In comparison to his rookie year, the Greek player has shown a lot of changes in physique and conditioning which allows him to bully defenders and score well at the rim. This enabled him to win a title two seasons including two MVPs and a defensive player of the years award as well.
NBA Stars praise the Greek Freak for his leadership qualities and how he carried the team last season to the playoffs. Having Khris Middleton out for a good portion of the season, Giannis carried them averaging 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. The Milwaukee Bucks were unable to fight the Boston Celtics in the second round of the post-season.

Gilbert Arenas slams Giannis Antetokounmpo saying he has not improve his skill
Giannis Antetokounmpo had one of his best seasons last year making several improvements statistically. He recorded a career high 1.4 blocks per game and increased his contribution on offense. But this mainly had to do with the amount of compensation he had to do in the absence of Middleton. But if closely observed, his numbers have only increased but the rate of consistency and percentages have more less been very fluctuating.
The 6x All-Star has had a very on and off relationship with his jumpshot. He met a slight decrease in his 3-point percentage going from 30.3% to 29.3%. Prior to this his ability to shoot from deep reached a low of 25.6%. The number of attempts have been increasing but the percentages have remained the same for the most part.
Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas brought this point on his Instagram saying, “Sometimes it’s hard to understand messages when success is been gotten, kobe and kanye commercial. Are u the same ANIMAL but a DIFFERENT beast the rookie greek til now has just gotten “stronger on his rim runs and wiser” has he added any new skill to his game?“
“Has his 3% gotten better (nope) has his mid range gotten better (nope) has his freethrows % gotten better (nope) has his back to the basketball play gotten better (nope)100 he’s gotten stronger, his ability to take bumps and finish has gotten better which helps his over all shooting % 100 the same flaws he walked into the game with he still has now which is why i said he needs to learn the game more to understand how to improve his over all game, As of now he’s the same animal and the SAME beast, just stronger and meaner.” He further continued his ran explaining how Michael Jordan added the fadeaway jumper as a new technique which Giannis has not done likewise.
