“His problem is that he’s LITTLE” Gilbert Arena highlights why Stephen Curry will never be a LEGIT Goat contender
Stephen Curry
Steph Curry has had an outstanding NBA career thus far, but he hasn’t made many people’s all-time top-10 list. Gilbert Arenas believes that his size prevents him from reaching that level. For this reason, he dubbed Curry as the GOAT of 6-foot-4 and under.
Curry has established himself as an elite 3-point shooter in the league. People who are accustomed to seeing players finish near the basket argue that the Golden State Warriors guard has ruined the game. Because of Curry’s influence, what was once considered a bad shot is now praised. To stretch the floor, even centres must now incorporate 3-point shooting into their game.

Gilbert Arenas on Stephen Curry and his GOAT case
In the clip below Gilbert Arenas discussed the Warriors’ Finals victory, which prompted speculation regarding Steph Curry’s status as the GOAT. He said “His highlight reels are amazing for what it is. When you’re talking about dribbling skills and the stuff he does to people, it’s amazing. But you got to remember, when it comes to levels of just men themselves, he’s like the king of 6-3 and under. Like you know that’s how we should do it, right?
6-3, 6-4 and under, Stephen Curry is the king, he’s the GOAT. He is the goat of that 6, 6-4. Curry is the GOAT. It seems like that’s how you do it. Just like (Floyd) Mayweather. Because when you talk about the greatest boxers of all time, mentally you go for the people who knocked out the most people.”
He added Curry is “slighted because he’s short,” noting that smaller players in the NBA are often overlooked despite their brilliance. Gilbert went on to say that, unlike guys like Michael Jordan, Curry isn’t known for dunking. Gilbert then agreed with Vlad that Mayweather is “the Curry of boxing” because his battles aren’t really thrilling, but he has a spotless record. Hence Gilbert declared Curry the “king” among NBA players 6’3″ and under.
Will Stephen Curry lead the warriors to another triumph?
With a championship, the Golden State Warriors proclaimed their return to playoff basketball. Steph Curry will need to put on another MVP-worthy finals performance if they want to win again in 2023. The Warriors failed to win back-to-back titles in 2016 with Curry as their key scorer. They wasted a 3-1 lead against LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals after winning the title in 2015.
They did, however, get revenge on the Cavaliers in 2017 and 2018, led by Kevin Durant. After Durant and Klay Thompson were injured in the 2019 finals, they lost their chance to three-peat. Steph Curry will have another chance to lead the Warriors to back-to-back titles. They are presently considered one of the favourites to win the championship next season.
