“Warriors are painting a picture,” Gilbert Arena reveals why Draymond Green’s fight video was leaked by an insider
Gilbert Arenas and Draymond Green
The Golden State Warriors, the reigning champions, endured a lot of hardship more than three months ago when Draymond Green struck young star Jordan Poole during a practice. When TMZ published a video of the encounter, what had been previously referred to as an internal concern became a full-fledged public matter. Green received harsh criticism from the NBA community as well as scrutiny from the league for his actions on the floor.
In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas said that the Golden State Warriors were planning a plot against Green. He also outlined possible justifications for such an action on the part of the Warriors. When questioned about his opinions on the Green-Poole incident, Arenas didn’t think twice to suggest a conspiracy involving the release of the video. The Warriors may have manufactured the video leak, according to the 3x All-Star, in an effort to reduce the 4x NBA champion’s wage demands.
Gilbert Arena said, “The Golden State Warriors are painting a picture. … Now, if the Warriors don’t re-sign Draymond Green, there is footage of why.” Arenas made a clear insinuation of the possibility of a leak from the Warriors themselves. He discussed how the team controls all media activities at the practice site to substantiate his claims.

Draymond Green clarifies why the Grizzlies aren’t the Warriors’ competitors
After his team’s ferocious 123-109 victory on Christmas Day, Golden State Warriors‘ veteran Draymond Green explained why he doesn’t view Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies as competitors, amidst all the trash-talking between the Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies since their encounter in the Western Conference semifinals last season.
“I think the word rivalry is thrown around too loosely these days,” Green said after defeating the Grizzlies at Chase Center. “A rivalry is the Lakers-Celtics. A rivalry is us and the Cleveland Cavaliers through those 2015, ’16, ’17, ’18, ’19 years. Those are rivalries.” Of course, the Warriors are quite experienced at hanging banners. Golden State won their fourth NBA title in eight seasons after beating Memphis in the playoffs.
Green’s remarks are in line with those of the Grizzlies’ standout point guard, Morant, who has often stated in recent months that there is no rivalry between the two teams. But the Warriors came into Sunday’s game clearly trying to have Morant retract his comments from last week, when he said he was only concerned about the Celtics and no other Western Conference teams. Green also expressed his appreciation for the intense environment created by the non-rivalry.
